Metro Improves Service in Fremont Using 2014 Prop 1 Dollars

Design by Kyler Martz for utility box at bus stop at BF Day on Fremont Avenue

On September 23 Metro will improve service to a number of routes, including several in Fremont. See the full list at Metro Service Change here. Fremont routes experiencing changes are: 5, 28, 40, 44, 62, RapidRide E, and late night Fremont routes being extended are the 5, 44, and Rapid Ride E. You can see those details by route here.

Many of these updates are due to Seattle voters voting for Prop 1 in November 2014. You may have received a postcard from the Seattle Transit Benefit District (STBD) regarding the new services; STBD is a funding partner in this effort and they want to make voters aware of results. The service is being delivered by Metro.

Part of this service change means a reorganization of Metro’s Night Owl service.  In the past, the routes 82, 83, and 84 looped around the city in the middle of the night. Now, those routes will be discontinued in favor of extending several all-day routes later into the night. Fremont routes being extended are the 5, 44, and Rapid Ride E.
