Tenants will soon be moving in to Catholic Community Services’ new Patrick Place Apartments on Aurora Avenue North, at the site of the old Thunderbird Motel. Patrick Place offers 71 new apartments and on-site support services for people who have been homeless. The Fremont Neighborhood Council wants to help our new neighbors feel welcome to the neighborhood. Fremont’s Key Bank has launched a donation drive to help these formerly homeless new residents, and will serve as a collection point for donated items. Needed items include:
- Twin size sheets sets
- Twin size blankets
- Bath towels
- Bath mats
- Shower Curtains
- Pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen towels
- Dish soap
You can drop items off at Key Bank (601 N 34th St Suite A, Seattle WA 98103 (206) 545-2284) during regular banking hours (M-Th 9-5; F 9-6; S 10-1:30) until January 20 in the new year. On the 20th, FNC is partnering with the Martin Luther King Day of Service both to involve everyone in the charitable activities planned for that day, and to collect items Patrick Place residents will need. So, bring your donations to the bank, or to the MLK Day of Service at Fremont Baptist Church, 717 N 36th Street, Seattle, WA 98103, between 10 am and 4 pm on January 20.
