Metro just announced a proposed series of changes to north end routes, designed for better connections when light rail stations open in the U District and Roosevelt neighborhood. One of the changes for Fremont is that the #16 bus goes away and is replaced by a new route 62 which will connect downtown Fremont and Wallingford’s business district on N 45th.  The route still goes from Sand Point to downtown, and gains more frequent service.  Changes to the 26 and 28 are also part of the plan. King County’s announcement says, “The King County Council is considering an ordinance that includes the King County Executive’s recommended service changes, detailed below. The recommendation was shaped using some 16,000 comments received over three phases of outreach between November 2014 and May 2015. The recommended changes include additions to service that will be funded by Seattle voters.”  See the details here: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/programs-projects/link-connections/recommendation.html#by-route
