Get ready for this in Upper Fremont

B.F.Day invites you to help install the new playground equipment. They write:

Playground Installation – Saturday, Sept. 14 & Sunday, Sept. 15

We’re going to install the new equipment at B.F. Day Elementary School and need help to place parts, tighten screws and pour concrete.

Saturday, Sept. 14, 9am – 5pm (end time depends on number of volunteers)

Please be there at 9:00 am for an orientation to include a safety talk, overview of the layout, and parts identification. We will then break into groups assemble. Afternoon activities will include concrete mixing, finish work and clean up. Work will be supervised by PlayCreations.  If you cannot be there all day on Saturday, consider signing up for one of two shifts:  9am – 1pm or 1 – 4pm

Sunday, Sept. 15, 10am – ?? (end time depends on number of volunteers)

Less exciting, but equally important is the placement of drain rock. This will involves lot of muscles, shovels and a handful of wheelbarrows. This work will be so much faster and easier if we can get a lot of people to help.

Lunch, snacks and water will be provided both days. (Thank you Fremont PCC, Ballard Trader Joe’s, & Eltana Bagels).  Please bring a refillable water bottle.  Work gloves – we will have some, but consider bringing a pair if you have them.  All other tools will be provided.

Please contact Kristin Anderson at kanderson11@comcast.net if you can help. Please specify the day and time you will be there. Ideally, we will have 25-30 volunteers on each day. You must be 16 years or older to participate.
