Fremont Arts Council invites the community:
Friday Night Float Move & Official Summer Solstice Parade Beer Garden party 6/20
Friday night we will move the Floats from the Powerhouse to the parade start. This year due to our normal route being used by the Fremont Fair we will be riding down Leary with a Police escort. We invite you to come be part of this adventurous mission and kick off for the next day. We will leave the Powerhouse at 9pm so all hands on deck to help with final tasks! Even if you aren’t part of an Ensemble you can still help out and join in on the fun! Please wear lite up clothing to be more visible and entertaining. After we move the Floats we will gather at the Official Summer Solstice Beer Garden on Evanston & 34th at Sixgills pub. It is right across from the Solstice concert series so we will have entertainment & great viewing without the ticket expense.
Ensembles Need you!
We have several great Ensembles that are still looking for more participants to get involved! It’s not too late to have the time of your life and be part of the parade vs just watching from the sidelines. Check out the Website for further info or drop by the Powerhouse evenings: 6-9pm. Here are a few:
Artland Farm
Green Hat
Birds and Bells Carillion
Wild Women of WA
Fairy Princess Lolly
And many more…

Volunteer!
Volunteering is the heartbeat of how we make this whole event happen! Please consider sharing your time & energy toward one of these roles or others can be found on the website.
Solstice Parade Monitor.
Looking for a way to be involved with the Solstice Parade, but don’t want to miss any of the show?
Want one of the best site lines on the route?
Be a Solstice Parade Monitor!!
Monitors work before & during the Parade on Saturday June 21st, 2014, on the parade route.
This is possibly the most important job during the parade and the one which receives the most kudos!
Do you like wearing a uniform? Is it in your nature to give kind, but firm reminders of the rules? This may be a job for you. In exchange for keeping an eye on a small section of the parade route, you’ll be granted coupons to use for food and/or beverages at the Gas Works Park celebration.
We need a lot of people, so if you’d like to sign up with a group of your pals, we encourage it.
Come be an integral part of the celebration. Contact Florence at volunteer@fremontartscouncil.org to sign up or learn more information.
Green Hat Ensemble is looking for members!
The Green Hat Ensemble is the main fundraising vehicle for the Solstice Parade. Greenhatters collect donations from the audience by extending cardboard “hats” on poles out to parade spectators. You get to be in the parade, your group has its own MC and it’s incredibly easy to get involved at this stage. This year’s theme is going to be a lot of fun and the harder planning part is already over. Now all you have to do is sign up and show up to get a costume on the day of! Sign up by contacting Florence at volunteer@fremontartscouncil.org.
First Aid Booth at Gas Works needs experienced volunteers!
We need volunteers with some first aid training and/or experience to help staff the First Aid Booth at Gas Works. It’s pretty easy; the shifts are two hours long and injuries tend to be minor scrapes and dehydration. Plus, you’ll be in the center of the action at Gasworks park.
