Seattle is considering both the HALA (Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda) & Seattle 2035 Comprehensive Plan As Seattle looks ahead, major re-zones to in a number of neighborhoods are proposed, with the hope that increasing the number of units and setting aside units as affordable will increase availability of housing at more reasonable prices. Many of these changes are slated for Seattle’s urban villages. Large tracts of Fremont, on both sides of Aurora, lie in the Fremont and Wallingford Urban Villages. FNC has set up a new web page with a Fremont map, links to basic information about the proposals to the City’s documents about these changes, and links to further information about these changes in City policy. Visit the page to stay connected as proposals move forward over this next year.
