The BF DAY Playground Update project, supported by FNC, was recommended to receive a King County Youth Sport Facilities Grant award in the amount of $50,000. Award will be finalized when the King County Council passes the budget, usually around Thanksgiving, writes Kristin Anderson from the project. She said they recently presented to the Department of Neighborhood Large Project Fund Grant’s City Wide Review Team and “We were told we would hear whether or not we are recommended for an award early in October. We applied for a $100,000 award.” She says, “Please tell the FNC Board that for both of these grants, our application was definitely strengthened by having some funds already committed to the project, part of which is your generous donation.”
The project hosted an open house in late August where the community weighed in on ideas for playground equipment and donor recognition. Finally, the Community Advisory Committee has a new member, Jessica Vets from the Fremont Chamber.
