Troll’s Knoll P-Patch sends this invitation for an update and planning meeting Monday, April 20, 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm, Fremont Public Library, 731 N. 35th St.:
Dear Trolls Knoll Potential P-Patch gardeners:
Please come to the following update and planning meeting: Monday, April 20, 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm, Fremont Public Library, 731 N. 35th St. Agenda:
- Update on Trolls Knoll Park & P-Patch: The Seattle Parks Department and Harrison Design, the Landscape Architect, are completing construction drawings after which they will hire a contractor. Completion is targeted for fall. Construction of the P-Patch should include paths, garden beds and soil. Elements including the tool shed and compost bins will depend on P-Patch gardeners to design, fund and build.
- P-Patch Tool Shed: In designing and building the tool shed, P-Patch gardeners can make a statement. P-Patch tool sheds around the City draw inspiration from their neighborhood. The Architecture firm of Perkins Will is donating design services. At the meeting we will bring examples of P-Patch tool shed designs, and staff from Perkins Will will solicit ideas. At follow up meetings we bring back a design. Funding and construction will be up to gardeners and we’ll discussion possibilities.
- How P-Patch Plots are Assigned: New P-Patch Community Garden plots are assigned to people who help build the site. Since most of Trolls Knoll P-Patch will be installed by a contractor, potential gardener activity may be limited to building the tool, compost bins and other elements desired by gardeners. There will be there will be multiple ways to accrue hours – help write the grant to fund the project, participate in planning meetings, look for in-kind construction help.

How do I participate in helping build so that I can be selected for a P-Patch? I live a stone’s throw from the Troll!
Thanks,
Susan M.
