At the October 22 FNC meeting, Seattle Parks and Recreation presented the three options being considered for the expansion of A.B. Ernst Park, located at 715 N. 35th St. next to the Fremont Library, which several present urged be named the Fremont Central Park, Fremont Library Park, or Slippery Slope Park for the new slides that may be incorporated into the design. Fremont Siphon Replacement Project Update-King County is replacing the 100-year-old Fremont Siphon, a major sewer pipe running under the Ship Canal between Fremont and Queen Anne. The new siphon will be located west of the existing siphon. Construction began in early 2015 and will continue until 2017. King County’s Doug Marsano updated FNC on how it’s going and what Fremont should expect as the project continues.
