Deadlines and a picnic coming up for solar energy. July 1 is the deadline for contracting to install solar energy with the current incentives, and July 21 you’re invited to a picnic in the park. Here’s more about both:
Hi folks,
I wanted to send along a quick progress update to our Solarize NW partners and volunteers. The campaign continues to progress, with 136 NW Seattle residents currently contracted to Solarize—that’s 620 kilowatts of solar! As a comparison, all previous campaigns combined installed a total of 644 kilowatts, so it is possible that Solarize NW could fully DOUBLE our installed solar capacity. (See the impact at www.solarizewa.org/our-progress) Very exciting stuff!
Another announcement—the contracting deadline has been set for July 1, 2013. If you know anyone who is still considering a bid, encourage them to join the momentum! We anticipate having final numbers early that week, and will share them with you as soon as we do.
Finally, the team at Northwest SEED would like to ask Solarize NW partners and volunteers to SAVE THE DATE for our upcoming Solar Picnic in the Park! The solar celebration will take place on Sunday, July 21st from 10:00AM to 1:30PM at Jefferson Park, under the solar picnic shelters. We’ll be celebrating the installation of more than one megawatt of solar through Northwest SEED programs (with special recognition for Solarize NW!), thanking our wonderful partners and volunteers, and kicking off the next Solarize campaign in Central/Southeast Seattle.
