[We are] getting ready to replace the North Transfer Station (1350 North 34th Street) with a more modern and efficient facility that will meet the growing future needs of the city. We will be closing the current transfer station after 5:30 p.m. on January 20, 2014.  Once closed, the old facility will be torn down and all new facilities (including new weigh stations, transfer building, and a new recycling center) will be constructed. The new North Transfer Station is expected to open in 2016. During the North Transfer Station construction, we encourage you to use the new South Transfer Station at 130 South Kenyon Street in South Park. The station is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 7 days a week. Visit the station’s website to plan your trip – www.seattle.gov/util/dump  To learn more about the new station design and the amenities associated with the North Transfer Station Rebuild Project, please visit the project website – www.seattle.gov/util/NewNorth.
