Fremont Neighborhood Council MeetingMonday, November 26, 2018: 7-8:45 p.m. at Doric Temple, 619 N. 36th St.

What actions can FNC take to reduce conflicts between houses and un-housed residents of Fremont?

AGENDA

7:02 Introductions and Announcements
7:15 Presentation on Electric Vehicle Charging pilot program

7:40 Discussion of FNC response to homelessness–We have had two “Civil conversations” about the homelessness problem this year. Now it is time for the board and community members to have a conversation about potential solutions. FNC cannot “solve” homelessness, but we can help alleviate adverse impacts. Please come prepared to consider:

  • What actions can FNC take to reduced conflicts between houses and un-housed residents of Fremont?
  • What policy position(s) should FNC take to encourage City politicians, agencies, departments, etc.? And to encourage them to do what? And also with respect to non-City entities that play a role, such as Fremont Baptist Church, the Doric Lodge, and the numerous low income social service and housing entities in Seattle.

8:10 Report on MHA Appeal Decision and “Next (and Related) Steps”

  • Hearing Examiner Ryan Vancil issued a decision largely denying appellants’ claims. Decision is at https://web6.seattle.gov/Examiner/case/W-17-006 (scroll to bottom)
  • Queen Anne Community Council has appealed the EIS for the ADU proposal. Files all here: https://web6.seattle.gov/Examiner/case/W-18-009 (hearing is week of March 25, 2019)
  • City will be working on update of tree ordinance…On another land use note: there was a design review board meeting for the project that presented to FNC in September (4711-4717 Aurora Ave N; MUP 3029853).
